The donation from household goods retailer PerfectHome is part of their newly launched Community Causes scheme which aims to make a major difference to great causes in areas where their stores are located.

The money donated to Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde, one of 125 Headway groups and branches in the country, will cover over three months of running costs which includes room hire and refreshments for their meetings.

The twice monthly sessions held at the Salvation Army building in Blackpool include a wide range of activities to help their 40 members, including Zumba and anxiety therapy sessions.

Support is also offered to their family, friends and carers who can share experiences with others who may be going through a similar situation.

Samantha Sweeny, community development officer at Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde said: “This donation covers over a quarter of our annual running costs which is incredible and will be a big weight off our shoulders.

“We can’t thank PerfectHome enough for the money and we know people who attend our sessions will be hugely grateful too, knowing they will be able to continue doing the activities we offer in an environment where they won’t be judged by others.”
