A visit by Royal Ballet Company to Queen Mary School in Lytham was enough to encourage the pupils to swap their uniform for tutus. Raisa and Baltabek Jumagolov receive a warm welcome in Blackpool after travelling thousands of miles from their home in Kazakhstan, near the Chinese border, to perform their illusion act at the Winter Gardens. This will be their first time performing in Britain

More than 100 walkers from 13 to retirement age helped to raise at least 500 by completing a gruelling 26 miles around the Fylde. Walkers descended on Mowbreck Hall Scout camping site at Wesham for the start of the walk. The money raised will go to the Rebecca Heyworth Trust
