Twenty-two women from the Hest Bank Hotel marched 10 miles along Lancaster canal to earn £350. Part of the cash will buy badly-needed kit for Hest Bank FC, near Lancaster. The rest will be sent to buy a unique device to be used to lengthen legs at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. A similar device has been used successfully to get nine-year-old Andrew Procter of Coastal Road, Hest Bank, walking again. Andrea is pictured with volunteers at the start of the walk Photo: Archive
