Death toll continues to rise at Blackpool Victoria Hospital

The total number of people to die there after testing positive for the coronavirus rose this afternoon to 105.

Some 135 patients have been discharged.

There are now at least 350 confirmed cases in the council area of Blackpool, and 2,461 in Lancashire, which includes Fylde and Wyre.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health said it was unable to "confirm anything" when asked if a testing site is being built on Blackpool's Central car park, close to Bloomfield Road.

Large swathes have been fenced off, while a sign says 'Exclusion zone', though a security guard manning to site said the work related to drain cleaning.
