Another Blackpool school sends pupils home 'after positive Covid-19 tests'

St John Vianney Catholic Primary School, in Glastonbury Avenue, acted on the advice of the council, headteacher Dr Elaine Allen said.
In a letter to affected parents in Year One, dated yesterday, she said a "child has tested positive for Covid-19 in your child's class".

Hide AdShe said: "This means that as advised by the local authority we will be closing the class bubble and your child will therefore need to self-isolate for 14 days.
"Your child does not need to get a Covid-19 test unless they develop symptoms and members of your household are not required to self-isolate.
"Any siblings in school in other classes do not need to self-isolate and are fine to attend school unless they develop symptoms.
"Home learning will begin on Monday so you will be required to log onto Microsoft Teams to find your child's work and the class teacher will be in contact via email."

Hide AdOne parent said a total of two children had tested positive at the school, while some youngsters from Year Four have also been sent home.
Earlier today, The Gazette revealed how Westcliff Primary Academy in Bispham has closed for at least 48 hours because teachers are self-isolating after two confirmed cases.And Armfield Academy in South Shore has sent its Year Eight pupils home after one of them tested positive.Dr Allen could not immediately be reached for a comment.
