Meet the Blackpool school where the (festive) show WILL go on
Come rain, shine , snow or Covid, pupils at Westcliff Primary will be putting on a festive celebration for their families.
Despite restrictions, staff at the Crawford Avenue school, have devised a way to ensure the show goes on - and are determined parents will see pupils putting on a show stopping performance.

Hide AdHeadteacher Amanda Stokes said: "We were disappointed that the children would be unable to perform the usual Christmas plays and carol concerts for their families this year, due to the additional safety precautions, so we decided to try and find a creative solution."
However, the whole school is taking part in a special festive production which will see each class doing their own bit separately in a Covid-safe environment. It will then be put together to make one big video.
The head added: "Each class has chosen a song to practise (outside, as per guidelines) and we will then film them performing it, along with narrators telling the nativity story, in our very own stable, outside on the playground.
"The Early Years pupils will be playing the parts of the characters and animals, and we will even have a real donkey to carry Mary."

Hide AdThe school's deputy headteacher sourced the donkey, who will en making a star appearance at school for his part in the nativity on December 10.
Year six teacher Tom Mack, will edit all the videos and put them together to make a film that parents will be able to watch
Amanda added: " Normally we would have the early years children doing a nativity / Christmas singalong, the infants doing a full blown Christmas play, and juniors performing a Carol concert in All Hallows Church.
It is such a shame that they won't be able to practice and perform in normal circumstances."
