Rail delays as storm hits
Speed restrictions have been imposed on the South and North Fylde railway lines due to high winds.
Rail bosses are warning anyone using the routes to expect slightly longer rail journeys than normal, but all services will still run.
Network Rail has imposed speed restrictions on the following routes:
Blackpool North & South – Preston
Darlington – Newcastle
Newcastle – Morpeth and Chathill
Bishop Auckland – Saltburn
Middlesbrough – Hexham via Sunderland and Newcastle
Carlisle – Newcastle
Preston – Carlisle via Oxenholme
Preston – Carlisle via Barrow
Skipton – Morecambe / Carlisle
The speed restrictions are expected to be in place from start of service until 2pm on Thursday.
