New luxury care home opening in Lytham St Annes

When it opens in late August, Windmill Lodge will offer both residential housing and a day centre service to those who need extra support but aren’t ready to move into full-time residential care.

It is the latest addition to Athena Healthcare Group’s portfolio of award-winning care homes and is their biggest lodge yet, with the largest offering.

Individual needs met

The services to be offered at Windmill Lodge cover a wide range of needs, from residential care where limited support is required to specialist nursing care for conditions such as dementia, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s and palliative care.

Staff at Windmill Lodge know that everyone is different and that person-centred care is very important to make sure that every individual’s unique needs and wants are met.

They are dedicated to providing the most appropriate level of care for you or your loved one, working closely with residents, families, friends and medical professionals to ensure that care is specifically tailored to each person.

Hairdressers and a putting green

Windmill Lodge general manager Joanne Wilson said: “I am really excited about the opening of this beautiful purpose-built facility. Windmill Lodge will enable us to provide person-centred care for each individual in small communities, with a dedicated team of staff who will receive training and support throughout their employment.

“Our lodge will provide fantastic and luxurious hotel style facilities such as a bar, shop, hairdressers, barbers, putting green and beautiful landscaped gardens that will be accessible to our residents.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for myself and the team to create the best care environment on the Fylde Coast.”

Each of Windmill Lodge’s spacious lounges has been designed to help and guide residents around their new home independently, with its colours and furnishings carefully chosen to help those living with cognitive impairment manage spatial awareness, while providing a homely atmosphere.

Windmill Lodge has a resident hairstylist and beauty treatments include manicures, pedicures and hand massages for those who choose to use them. There is also a cinema and activities room for entertainment.

All of this is offered on the beautiful Fylde Coast, close to the lights of Blackpool.
