The new towers will be used to facilitate 5G coverage across Blackpool, which is expected to revolutionise telecommunications around the world.

The new masts are owned and operated by telecoms provider EE/Three.

One of the masts is newly erected and another is a significant upgrade to an existing mast.

5G has provoked some concern from those who fear the powerful new radio waves could prove harmful to the public's health. But experts say no scientific evidence has been found to suggest that the new technology poses a threat to human health.
