Alfie says he might share a little FaceTime

Members of MyUK Blackpool had been bombarding the social media site with the hashtag #getalfieboetoourshow, in a bid to get the star singer to attend their production of Les Miserables School Edition, at Lowther Pavilion from tomorrow.

Thousands of messages were sent by the cast, with some even being sent to Twitter ‘jail’ for spamming the site with their plea.

The campaign came about when the group realised the Fleetwood-born singer had been back in the UK for a concert at Edinburgh Castle earlier this month, and they hoped to bring him home to the Fylde for their performances.

Boe replied to @MyUKBlackpool on Twitter, saying: “Would love to be at your show but I’ll be in the US. I send my best wishes to all. I could watch via FaceTime though.”

FaceTime is a phone app, which allows video calls to be made via wifi.

Director Kelly Hancock admitted she was ‘ecstatic’ at his reply, and said to him: “I can’t tell you how much your reply means to our cast @MyUKBlackpool, I am the director and if you’re serious about facetime I will be in the audience every night taking notes and would happily facilitate this, please get in touch to let me know how... They can rehearse again now.”
