Artists join forces for resort exhibition, 'A Discovery of Witches'

Work by two Blackpool artists is on display until next month.

A Discovery of Witches by Kathy Rowan and Mark Hetherington explores different aspects of what is meant by the word ‘witch’.

Their artwork features in an exhibition on the ground floor at HIVE artisan coffee shop on Church Street, Blackpool, until December 2.

Kathy Rowan is a visionary artist, living and working in Blackpool. She is set to graduate from Blackpool School of Art next year.

She said: “I work with charcoal, paint, wax and resin. I’m inspired by feminine spirituality, fantasy and myths.

“Mark is a fine art graduate from Blackpool School of Art and has long been fascinated by the Early Modern witch trials which occurred between 1500 and 1750. .

“He also produces work based on mental health as well as being a freelance illustrator.”
