Victoria Wood’s deliciously endearing stage play Dinnerladies returns to Blackpool’s Grand Theatre next week with the uproarious new production, Second Helpings.
The play runs from Monday, April 4 to Saturday, April 9.
Second Helpings features many of the talented cast from last year’s smash-hit live show and stars original BBC TV cast members Andrew Dunn (Tony) and Sue Devaney (Jane) from the multi-award-winning sitcom.
Come back for more from the much-loved catering crew Bren, Dolly, Jean, Twinkle and Anita, together with caretaker Stan and his wonderful words of wisdom, dizzy Phillippa from Human Resources and Bren’s dreadful mother Petula.
They bring with them the delightfully funny day to day adventures from the staff canteen at HWD Components.
Every aspect of this sensational new stage production has been devised under the close supervision of Britain’s favourite comedienne Victoria Wood – including the casting, rehearsals, script, set, music and costume.
This hilarious and heart-warming production includes some additional script which has never been heard before.
Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies was voted the ninth most popular sitcom of all time, despite only 16 episodes being produced and televised.
The BBC TV series ran during 1999 and 2000 but episodes are still frequently shown on one or other BBC channel, especially UK Gold.
Performances are on Monday at 8pm, Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2pm.
Tickets cost from £17. Book your seats now by calling the Grand Theatre Box Office on (01253) 290190 or online at www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
