It’s time to step into summer with style at cabaret bar Viva this week.

Sunday saw the return of Joe Longthorne to the stage, after his recent cancer operation, and this time it’s Viva’s own Summer Spectacular celebrating its opening night.

Leye D Johns and the team host a VIP launch tomorrow night for their new season show, promising an ‘evening of pure escapism’.

Reluctant to give too much away about the new production, Leye will only say that it’s a ‘brand new show’ and will be ‘bigger and better than ever, with a host of new numbers and material on the Viva stage’.

He added: “There are new costumes, new props and it will be more outrageous than ever.

“We’re keeping variety alive in Blackpool.”

The Sunday night show, That’s What Friends Are For, stars Darren Day, drafted in when Longthorne found he faced an operation to remove a tumour. But his speedy recovery has seen him back in action much sooner than expected.
