International opera star Jane Irwin will be performing a homecoming concert alongside the Blackpool Symphony Orchestra, on Saturday.
The soprano will be singing Samuel Barber’s ‘Knoxville: Summer of 1915’ at the concert at St Andrew’s Church, Rough Lea Road, Thornton.
The orchestra will also showcase their talent in a performance of Glinka’s rousing ‘Ruslan and Ludmilla’ overture, Britten’s suite for orchestra ‘Matinees Musicales’ and will conclude the evening with Glasunov’s tuneful and exciting second symphony.
