New boutique festival for North West

A '˜boutique' North West music festival have announced Manchester band James as their second headliners.

The inaugural Hope and Glory festival will take place at Liverpool’s St George’s Hall on Saturday, August 5 and Sunday, August 6.

The announcement of James, follows the previous announcement that 70-piece orchestra ‘Hacienda Classical’ will close the festival, joined by Shaun Ryder and Bez from Happy Mondays.

Also performing over the course of the weekend are Razorlight, The Fratellis, Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon, The View, Embrace, Ocean Colour Scene, Lightning Seeds and many more.

A spokesman said: “Hope and Glory is a unique, artistically subversive event offering an edgy, sophisticated and surreal experience, marrying together the ideas and stylings of Charles Darwin with Tim Burton.”

The first 1,200 ticket buyers will also have the option to attend an exclusive free gig the night before the festival starts.
