Happy Mondays announce Greatest Hits tour

Legendary '˜Madchester' band Happy Mondays will Step On to the Preston Guild Hall stage as part of their upcoming Greatest Hits tour.

The 25-date tour will stop at Preston Guild Hall on Tuesday, November 28, with other North West dates including performances at the Liverpool Olympia and Manchester Academy 1.

The tour announcement has come on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut album - ‘Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out)’ - the title of which inspired the film ‘24 Hour Party People’.

Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder said: “I am really looking forward to the ‘Mondays’ shows leading up to Christmas 2017.

“We’re performing better than ever and I love getting together with the band, blasting out all our great tunes we’ve made together over the decades. It’s gonna be great.”

Bez, the group’s dancer and percussionist, added: “Just as I thought it was all over, the party’s starting again.

“Look forward to seeing you all.”

Tickets are priced at £29.50.

There will be a ticket pre-sale at 10am today, with tickets going on general release at 10am on Friday.
