The Right Here Right Now and Praise You hit maker is a huge coup for the return of the resort’s Blackpool Rocks event in 2021 at the Winter Gardens.

Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, 57, tweeted of his special guest appearance at the festival: “Excited to be invited as special guest at Blackpool_Rocks.”

His performance will be ahead of his new tour which kicks off in November.

Promoters Cuffe and Taylor revealed the line up for the indoor dance festival for Saturday June 26 this week which also includes top acts Hot Since 82, Maya Jane Coles, Jaguar and ABSOLUTE.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Danny took over the reins of Pete Tong’s Friday night dance show last year and announced this week from September he would be moving to the 6pm slot.

Danny said he was super excited to be back with the Blackpool Rocks event, which was postponed in 2020 owing to the pandemic.

He said the night promised to be the ‘biggest party.’

He added: “I’m coming home and I’m bringing this pretty weighty line-up with me for the first BIG party of the summer. Blackpool Rocks is back.”

A spokesperson for Blackpool Rocks: The Return promised the night would make for an ‘unforgettable comeback to the almighty event’
