Blackpool stars take audience on musical journey through history of the Winter Gardens in new show 'West End Blackpool'

Some of Blackpool’s biggest homegrown talent from theatreland will welcome viewers to journey along with them through the historic Winter Gardens for a new musical adventure.

West End actress and writer Jodie Prenger and former on-screen soap siblings Tom Lister and Kelsy-Beth Crossley star in West End Blackpool, created by fellow Blackpool actor and choreographer Ashley Luke Lloyd.

The docu-concert - filmed across the complex including the Empress Ballroom, which this year marks its 125 year milestone - will be available to view online by audiences from April 6.

Producer Ashley, who has performed in West End shows from Mama Mia to Billy Elliott, said he can’t wait to share the long-awaited film with theatre lovers and the wider Blackpool community.

Tom Lister, a strong campaigner for the theatre industry in lockdown added: “Like an itch that hasn’t been scratched for such a long time, it was brilliant to get dressed up and sing again!

West End Blackpool puts the capital of entertainment back in the spotlight with a new musical theatre-inspired show filmed in the Winter Gardens.

The cast features Jodie Prenger; former Emmerdale alumni and resort panto favourite Tom Lister; Fleetwood actress Kelsey-Beth Crossley, who was also in the ITV soap; and Blackpool writer, producer and actor Ashley Luke Lloyd alongside an ensemble of performers.
