Their closest group game was against a very good Garstang team.

Garstang scored eight rounders in their innings and it wasn’t until the ninth minute that Rossall passed their total to clinch the victory by a margin of one-and-a-half rounders.

In the semi-final Rossall faced Fleetwood High School in what turned out to be a very low scoring affair.

Rossall batted first and were restricted to just five and a half rounders thanks to some excellent fielding from Fleetwood High.

This score seemed under par, however, Rossall rose to the task and managed to get all of the Fleetwood High batters out for just two-and-a-half rounders.

Rossall then faced Baines in the final where captain Morgan Wallace won the toss and elected to field first.

Baines had some excellent batters and managed to hit the ball a considerable distance.

This did not worry Rossall as they continued to perform well in the field and Baines finished on a total of seven-and-a-half rounders.

The Rossall innings got off to a bad start as the big-hitting Wallace was caught out first ball.

The girls did not panic and slowly started to chase down the Baines total.

A couple of fabulous strikes towards the end by Meagen Baxendale secured victory for Rossall and saw them crowned as the champions.
