Fleetwood Town striker Wes Burns thinks it is the right time to face Sheffield United.

Steven Pressley’s men have won three of their last four, whereas the Blades have just suffered back-to-back defeats.

Burns, a scorer in the last two games, wants to make it three wins in three when 17th-placed Fleetwood face the Blades at Highbury this afternoon.

And the 21-year-old Bristol City loanee believes it is a good time to play Nigel Adkins’ out- of-form side.

He said: “Sheffield are one of the biggest clubs in the division but they are not really getting any good results at the moment,so I think we need to exploit that and obviously gain more points on Saturday.”

Burns says that despite the fact Town are in a relegation battle, successive wins over Coventry and promotion-chasing Gillingham have proved that Town can beat the best in the league.

And he says the team are eager to continue their winning run.

Burns said: “We have shown we can perform against the best clubs in the league. We beat Coventry last Saturday and Gillingham on Tuesday.

“We have taken nine points from a possible 12 since I’ve been here, which is a very good return. We said in the dressing room after the game against Gillingham that we have won two in two, so why can’t we make it three?”
