Transfer deadline day latest

Bloomfield Road
Bloomfield Road

The Gazette’s football writers William Watt (WW) and Rob Stocks (RS) bring you all the latest developments from the Fylde coast’s club with the clock ticking down to tonight’s 11pm deadline

11pm: (WW) WINDOW CLOSES Still no confirmed news about Gary MacKenzie’s move to Bradford but more importantly no players in through the door at Bloomfield Road. It’s another day of frustration.

10:50pm: - (WW) Looking very unlikely there will be anyone arriving at Bloomfield Road ahead of the deadline, it’s been another frustrating day for boss Lee Clark.

10:30pm (RS) DEAL DONE Finally the transfer is confirmed, Scott Davies heading out of Highbury on loan to Accrington Stanley. He’ll remain at the Crown Ground for the rest of the season having previously been on loan at Morecambe. It’s just under a year since he lost his first team place to Chris Maxwell.

10:09pm (RS) Emmanuel Dieseruvwe who failed to make his mark on loan at Fleetwood last season joins Chesterfield from Sheffield Wednesday. Might surprise a few Town fans that one!

10:00 - (WW) Thomas Ince signs for Derby from Hull City on loan until the end of the season.

9:45pm (RS) Might be some last minute movement at Fleetwood Town after all. Details soon

9:15pm: (WW) Gary McKenzie is heading out of Bloomfield Road with Bradford the likely destination.

8:00pm - (WW) DONE DEAL Ishmael Miller joins Huddersfield Town.

8.00pm (RS) All quiet on the Fleetwood front right now. Still all suggestions it’s likely to stay that way. There was a minor panic earlier when Josh Morris was briefly linked with a move to QPR. As good as Josh has been at times, that seemed an unlikely step. It turns out the rumour was actually about Blackburn’s Norwegian international Josh King. Not an easy mistake to make!

7:40pm - (WW) Remember Gerardo Bruna who was described as the new Lionel Messi? He’s just signed for Accrington Stanley.

7:30pm - (WW) Deadly quiet at Bloomfield Road as Pool struggle to get deals done. Ishmael Miller to Huddersfield expected to be confirmed within the hour.

6:50pm - (WW) Blackpool yet to confirm the long-term signing of Accrington’s Tom Aldred, likely to happen this evening at some point.

5:30pm - (WW) Unlikely there will be any deal for Brad Poots after Pool’s earlier bid was rejected. Maybe one to pick up again in the summer.

4:50pm - (WW) Ishmael Miller is currently at Huddersfield’s training ground and is expected to complete a move soon.

4:30pm - (WW) At the moment it is all quiet on the surface at Bloomfield Road but there is believed to be plenty of activity behind the scenes. Looks like Ishmael Miller will leave the club today with Wigan and Huddersfield poised. Any move by the striker would trigger Pool into bids of their own. Likely to be a long evening ahead.

4:00pm - (WW) Keigan Parker has linked up with former Blackpool boss Barry Ferguson at Clyde.

3:19pm (RS) An update of sorts from Highbury. Graham Alexander made it clear last week he was happy with his squad and looking to make no further additions, telling The Gazette the only deadline day activity would come if clubs made a bid for any of his players. Competent performances at Bristol City from youngsters Nick Haughton and Tyler Forbes will only serve to reinforce Alexander’s faith in the players he already has at Fleetwood Town. There’s no signs from inside Highbury that Alexander’s had a transfer rethink on the long journey back from Bristol City or that anyone is likely to follow Tom Davies out of the door. Elsewhere in League One it looks like Chesterfield striker Eoin Doyle is on his way to Cardiff City in a £750,000 deal and former West Ham youngster Blair Turgott has joined Coventry City until the end of the season.

2.10pm - (WW) Former Blackpool boss Jose Riga is set to be named Head Coach of Belgian side Standard Liège.

2:05pm - (WW) A striker in Scotland has become available after Keigan Parker left Airdrie.

2pm - (WW) Internet reports linking Ishmael Miller to Millwall appear to be wide of the mark although the striker could still leave the club. If he does Pool have their eyes on a replacement.

12:50pm - (RS) Fleetwood Town are the first to make a move and it’s a departure. Defender Tom Davies, signed last season from FC United of Manchester and yet to make a first team appearance, heads out on a month’s loan to Conference side Lincoln City.

12:00pm - (WW) Brighton have made a move for young midfielder Mark Waddington, at present it’s not sure if the bid has been accepted. Believed to be around £100,000.

11:30am - (WW) Blackpool have had a bid of around £150,000 rejected for Carlisle midfielder Brad Potts. The England U19 man is highly rated and Pool are expected to try again later today.

10:30am - (WW) Ishmael Miller looks like he could be heading out of Bloomfield Road, with Wigan among the clubs linked with the striker. It’s understood Pool would allow him to leave.

9:00am - (WW) Blackpool are set to leave their deadline-day dealing typically late as they aim to complete several transfers before tonight’s 11pm cut-off. Manager Lee Clark has a list of targets and a couple of players could leave Bloomfield Road too. One deal certain to take place today is the permanent signing of Tom Aldred from Accrington Stanley. The defender joined Pool on a short-term loan on Saturday morning and was an unused substitute in the win over Brighton. The Bolton-born 24-year-old came through the ranks at Carlisle, then had spells at Watford and Colchester without making a senior appearance for either club. He did play on loan for Stockport, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Barrow before joining Stanley two years ago. Aldred, whose two-year deal runs out in the summer, has made 92 consecutive starts for the League Two club and worked there with current Blackpool coach Paul Stephenson. Pool assistant boss Alan Thompson said Pool are hoping for more deals today: “I hope there will be more activity before the window closes. “We are looking at a number of areas. It depends what becomes available. “Tom’s deal will be finalised on Monday. He’s a young and enthusiastic defender, who we are happy to have. “We will try and get one or two in ahead of the deadline and, you never know, maybe one or two out. “We will be here at the stadium until the deadline, so it could be a long night.” There is a major question mark over the Pool future of big earner Ishmael Miller, who was left out of Saturday’s squad. Joe Lewis was again confined to the bench after it was revealed that Pool must pay his parent club Cardiff a £40,000 fee if the keeper makes a further three appearances on loan. The 27-year-old could yet return to Wales today and Pool are lining up a replacement if he does. Nile Ranger could also be on his way out, with Oldham linked with a swoop. Pool are also believed to be chasing a midfielder from a League Two club as well as a number of other targets.
