Town’s biggest game of season

KEEPER Scott Davies branded today’s home clash with Exeter City as Fleetwood’s “biggest game of the season” and called on Town’s Cod Army to roar their side to victory.

Town are seven points off a play-off spot following a disappointing run, which has seen them score one goal and pick up just one point in four games.

But Davies, who captained Fleetwood at Wycombe last Saturday, is keen to see his side kick on, insisting today is make-or-break for Graham Alexander’s men.

He said: “It’s the biggest game of the season. We know that. “We need a big crowd down at Highbury to get behind the lads.

“Everyone needs to be pulling in the same direction. We need the fans now.

“At this point in the season it’s do-or-die. A win puts us right back in contention.”

Davies was proud to wear the captain’s armband after Rob Atkinson was dropped to the bench.

And he’s happy to continue in the role should Alexander once again call on him today.

He said: “I was over the moon to be offered the armband.”
