Uwe Rosler signed the 31-year-old from Plymouth Argyle in January but the midfielder failed to replicate the same form he showed at Home Park at Highbury.Rosler was sacked a month after his former Brentford player arrived on a free transfer and though he got minutes under the German's successor John Sheridan he has fallen down the pecking order under new boss Joey Barton.Diagouraga returned to pre-season training but his exit is no surprise given Barton told the Gazette the Frenchman had fallen behind his young midfield pack and was free to leave the club.Barton informed the Frenchman he could not guarantee him first team football at Highbury and now Diagouraga has clinched a move to League Two side Swindon.Diagouraga had a year remaining on an 18 month deal but after racking up just 17 games for the League One side they have decided to cut their losses and allowed him to join Swindon on a free transfer. And Brown revealed that current Malmo FF boss Rosler recommended Diagouraga.Brown said: "I'm delighted - it is one we have been working on for a while."I've known Toumani for quite some time now as one of the opposition and he was always a constant thorn in the side in terms of the way he broke play up."He is a simple midfield player and quite often the simple side of the game is the most complicated part - he does it quite well."He was recommended to me by Uwe Rosler and Mark Warburton and they both speak highly of him."Diagouraga was also pleased to join Swindon after being left out of Fleetwood's 26-man squad for the Hungarian tour.He said: "I'm very happy."I met the manager on Sunday and it went from there."I'm here to help the team and I'm here to help the team be successful."
