Sean Clancy is feeling fully fit and injury-free for the first time in two years.

nd that’s why the Fleetwood Town winger believes his best is yet to come after an outstanding display in Tuesday’s 5-0 FA Cup hammering of Mansfield.

The 24-year-old said: “I’m in a good place and enjoying my football. Now I’d like a run of games in the team and hopefully go from strength to strength.

“It’s taken me two years but I’m not feeling any injuries and finally I’m feeling like my old self.

“I know that when I’m fit I can reach standards I’m happy with and and I was delighted with my performance on Tuesday night.”

The Liverpudlian scored Town’s second but isn’t taking any credit away from his team-mates after a dominant Highbury display.

He added: “Someone was going to get it here and we have shown that we can turn teams over at home.

“Mansfield aren’t a bad side but we were so good going forward. We created so many chances that anyone watching could see we could have scored more than five.

“You could go on all day about the quality we have in the squad, so when you get in or around the box there will always be opportunities and it was good to put one in the net.”

Clancy scored Town’s second at a key moment just before half-time. He recalled: “It’s my job to back up every attack, and I burst into the box and was waiting for the ball. Vardy spotted me and I rolled it in.

“As long as we can take that form into the Luton and Wycombe games we can win both.
