The Dons are unbeaten in League One this month and stand above Rosler’s eighth-placed side on goal difference.

Town head to the capital in fine form after Tuesday’s 3-0 victory over Shrewsbury, their third Highbury win in eight days, and Rosler praised his squad for regaining that winning feeling.

He said: “You always have periods in this league when things go your way and when things get difficult. But all credit – we have had difficult results and had to bounce back. I think there is a lot in that dressing room I admire.

“On the football side we will improve with the players we have, no question about it, but also in the transfer window.

“I just look forward to the next few games. Now we go to Wimbledon, a team that is absolutely in form, and we really will see if we can take it to another level away from home.”

And Rosler praised top scorer David Ball, whose two against the Shrews took him to eight goals for the season.

The head coach added: “David had a fantastic start to the season. Then he dropped a bit, which is understandable. The effort he puts in is enormous.

“We recognise that and we let him come back from the bench sometimes. Now he is refreshed he is back to his best.

“Conor McLaughlin was outstanding from the first minute and Amari’i Bell reproduced the energy levels he had shown on Saturday.

“It is not easy for the young players in midfield but they are growing through difficulties.”
