New Pool boss Neil McDonald showed he’s keen to make up for lost time by making goalkeeper Kyle Letheren his third summer signing.

The 27 year old - called up to the Welsh squad last year – joins from Scottish Premier League side Dundee on a two-year deal, with an option for a further year.

Keepers have been an obvious priority for McDonald, Blackpool having no senior stopper on their books when he arrived at the club.

Letheren, who has made 56 appearances in the last two seasons and achieved promotion to the SPL in the 2013/14 campaign, will compete with former Birmingham City man Colin Doyle to be Pool’s first choice.

And he’s ready for the challenge south of the border.

He said: I’m delighted to get it over the line, it’s been on the back burner for a week now since Neil rang me,”

“Since he rang me it’s been the only place that I wanted to come to.

“I’m not just coming here to make up the numbers, I’m coming here to play just like everyone else. I’m sure me and Colin can push each other all the way and that can only be good for Blackpool.”

Letheren is Pool’s second signing in as many days - following former Carlisle midfieldery Brad Potts through the door.,
