Fleetwood Town have been dealt a major blow ahead of Saturday’s home game against Gillingham with the news striker Liam McAlinden has been recalled to Wolves.
The forward scored twice in two starts for Town and was due to remain at Highbury until January.
But Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has decided to take the 21-year-old back to Molineux.
It means Town will have just two recognised forward to call upon this weekend as they look to preserve their unbeaten home record.
David Ball missed last weekend’s trip to Preston with a cut to his leg but is expected to be fit.
Graham Alexander is facing a real selection headache ahead of Saturday’s game with Jamie Proctor suspended.
That leaves Stephen Dobbie as Town’s only other attacking option although Antoni Sarcevic and Gareth Evans are both capable of standing in up front.
