The weather took its toll on the Blackpool and Fylde Sunday Football Alliance but didn't stop Blackhurst Budd continuing their perfect start to the season.

In their Gledhill Cup quarter-final against a hard-working New Albert team from the division below, Nick Greenall bundled in Michael Clark’s corner, then converted a penalty he won himself to give Budd a 2-0 half-time lead.

The second half saw Jordan Douthwaite rise highest to head home Michael Spencer’s corner before Josh Miller scored the fourth and final goal for the top-flight club.

In division one of the Bathroom Solutions BFSFA league, Belle Vue continued their fine start to the season with a 3-1 win over Highfield thanks to goals from Shaun Frankine, Jason Jewitt and Ahern Playforth. Robert Griffiths replied.

Matty Grime scored all four for Lane Ends Blackpool as they beat Highfield Social 4-1.

The second division’s top three are separated by goal difference, FC Albion leading the way after goals from Jordan Bullen, Michael Crossland and Jason Dean gave them a 3-1 win at Westview.

The Bridge are second after a 10-4 win against Lane Ends. Simon Annetts led the way with a hat-trick. There was a brace each for Kyle Nixon and Jason Nuttall and further goals from Gavin Annetts, David Ireland and David Shaw. In reply, Daniel Causer and Damian Clayson scored two apiece.

The Links are third but slipped up against Highlands as goals from Jordan Brailsford and Daniel Dean gave the visitors the 2-1 win.

Broomheads Estate Agents still boast a perfect league record after Kenny Cram scored four, Jordan Casey three, Samuel Price two and Jack Gaffikin netted too in the 10-1 win at The George.

A cracking game in Fleetwood saw BES Utilities edge out King Edward in an 11-goal thriller thanks to Lee Grundy(2), Daniel Sumner(2), Mitch Hadgraft. Andy Fennell scored two for Kings.

Chris Danson scored five goals in vain for Kirkham Town as they lost 6-5 to Metrostars, whom Daniel Horner almost match him with four. Anthony McEwan and Michael Morcombe scored too.
