Fleetwood Town celebrated Nathan Pond’s ten years at the club in spectacular style - demolishing League One Preston.

The two sides traded blows early on, Fleetwood probably creating the best opening when Jamille Matt surged into the box, Ryan Crowther unable to finish.

Blows off a different kind changed the course of the game, Joe Garner kicking out at Stephen Schumacher just after the half hour, earning his marching orders.

Town soon took advantage, Crowther making amends for his earlier miss to fire home at the back post.

North End made five changes at half time but almost hit back when Keith Keane got onto Jack King’s cross, his effort only finding the side netting.

It was a let off for Town who wasted no time doubling their tally, Antoni Sarcevic selfless as he fed Crowther, the winger determined, putting away the rebound after his first shot was blocked.

Sarcevic made it three for Town with a delightful finish from 20 yards before Schumacher wrapped up proceedings, his screamer taking one heck of a deflection to wrongfoot North End’s Declan Rudd.
