Fleetwood Town's game against Walsall has been postponed for a second time due to a waterlogged pitch
An inspection as carried out at Highbury early this afternoon during which concerns were raised about areas of standing water.
Referee Scott Duncan made it clear safety had been his number one priority.
He said:"The groundsman has worked hard on the pitch, but there’s an awful lot of surface water still on it.
“The goalmouths are pretty treacherous and certainly on the wings. I have to take player safety into consideration.
“Unfortunately there’s too many suspect areas on the playing surface, with more heavy rain forecast."
The same fixture was postponed in early December due to a waterlogged pitch at Highbury.
Today's postponement is only the second in eight years for Fleetwood Town.
