Wingers and a controlling midfielder are at the top of Fleetwood boss Steven Pressley’s shopping list as Town look to continue strengthening their squad this summer.
The club have already brought in six new players – strikers Ashley Nadesan and Aaron Hollway, defenders Ashley Eastham and Cian Bolger and goalkeepers Alex Cairns and Chris Neal – but Pressley says the club’s summer recruitment drive will not end there.
The former Scotland defender says that they are in no rush to bolster their squad with the opening day of the League One campaign scheduled for the weekend of August 6-7.
He said: “We are still on the look out for three more players. We need competition in the wide areas and in central midfield.
“We obviously have a way of playing with three central midfielders.
“We have Jimmy Ryan, Eggert Jonsson and Victor Nirennold and we probably need another controlling midfield player within the group.
“There is nothing close at this moment in time.
“We are trying to pursue some players but there is not a lot available at this moment in time.”
