Town will play Hull City for the fourth time this season (12.30pm), having come out on top in the first meeting before losing the other two.

The clubs have met in three different competitions, starting in the league when the Cod Army won 4-1 in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

However, the Tigers were 2-0 FA Cup winners before overturning a two-goal deficit to see off Town 3-2 in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Fleetwood Town head coach isn't worried by players' contract status

Grayson knows his players will be coming up against a side with everything to play for, as Grant McCann’s outfit chase the League One title and an immediate return to the Championship.

However, the Highbury head coach has been pleased with his players’ recent showings and just wants to see more of the same.

Grayson said: “Regardless of who we’re playing, we’re confident that we’re going to get a victory.

“We’ve been there twice this season and lost both, so it’s third time lucky we hope.

“We’ve got to go there with the same sort of attitude and approach as we have lately, then we have a good chance.

“Certainly against Hull because they’re up there for a reason and challenging for the automatic promotion spots.

“You’ve seen on Saturday (Town’s win over Rochdale) and last week with Wimbledon, that there are two teams fighting for their lives.

“Against Hull, they will be fighting for their lives for a different reason.”

Callum Connolly won’t be an injury doubt for the game despite appearing to break his nose against Rochdale last time out.

Picking up battle scars is part of being a defender, according to Grayson, who joked of the impact on his defender’s appearance.

“He’s a warrior,” he said.

“The only way that Callum doesn’t play is if he’s done something to his legs and that’s how it should be.

“He’s a defender, you’re there to put your body on the line.

“Callum’s not the prettiest of lads anyway so it won’t make a difference!”
