Fleetwood snap-up out of contract AFC Fylde youngster

Fleetwood Town have swooped for AFC Fylde's out of contract winger Dion Charles.

The 20-year-old midfielder penned a two-year-deal at Highbury to step up from the National League North club to League One earlier today.

The former Blackpool youth player who scored 18 goals for Fylde last term will initially link up the club’s development squad.

Earlier today Town boss Steven Pressley was pleased to recruit another talented young player.

He said: “Our scouting and recruitment staff have been to watch Dion play. He is another young player that we expect we can develop into a first team player and a real asset for the football club.

“We are looking to recruit well. The goal is to bring players through our youth and development squad. Dion falls under that category and over time we know that with full time training and development, we can improve his game.”
