Fleetwood defender Nilsson joins top Norwegian club
The Gazette reported earlier this week that Nilsson was expected to leave the club this summer and the club has just confirmed today that the Swede is returning to Scandinavia
The 28-year-old defender played eleven times at Highbury after arriving from Swedish club Kalmar in February.

Hide AdFleetwood exercised an option to extend the defender’s stay for another year in June but following interest from a number of Scandinavian clubs Nilsson has been allowed to leave the club and has opted to join Stabeak who compete in Norway’s top division the Tippeligaen.
Nilsson wishes the club all the best for the future.
He said: “I want to thank everyone at Fleetwood Town for the months I spent there.
“It was an honour to be part of a great club, I wish everyone there all the best for the future.”
Fleetwood are currently on a tour of Holland ahead of the new season starting on August 6, and Technical Director Gretar Steinsson says it’s a deal which benefits both sides.
