As they prepare for a home clash against Swindon Town tomorrow, the defender says the transformation from being in the Robins’ position at this stage last term is something to be proud of.

He said: “I think if you ask a Fleetwood fan this time last year it was a bit of a different story.

“As a unit, as staff we have done something to make the fans proud and we have got every intention of carrying that on and making it a really special season.”

Fleetwood have only lost once in 22 games and prepare for tomorrow on the back of goalless draws with AFC Wimbledon and Bury.

Town have picked up 13 clean sheets in that time and Eastham is hoping Town can put on a better performance for the fans than they did for the 572 at Bury.

He said: “Good teams, when they don’t win they don’t lose; that is what we have proved to do this season. We’d have liked to have put a bit better performance on for the fans because they came out in their numbers but we are a positive side, the staff are positive and our focus is the 74 points.”
