  • Joins club desperate to bounce back from relegation

Goalkeeper Scott Davies has left Fleetwood Town to join National League side Tranmere Rovers.

Davies has found his options limited at Fleetwood since falling out of favour during the club’s League Two promotion campaign.

Poor form led to him losing his first team place to Chris Maxwell - who has clung on to the goalkeepers shirt ever since, Davies spending time out on loan with former club Morecambe and Accrington Stanley.

Davies was a key member of the squad which won promotion from the Conference in 2012 - the season in which he made his name with Town.

The 28-year-old joins a club looking to bounce straight back after relegation from the Football League.

Thornton-born Davies, who went to Cardinal Allen High School, a stone’s throw from Highbury, made 150 appearances for Fleetwood.
