David having a Ball as players and fans unite

The club’s highest away following saw Town leapfrog the Iron to go second in League One and Ball says the fans can be their 12th man at Highbury tomorrow, when the biggest home gate of the campaign is expected.

Only standing tickets remain and 12-goal striker Ball said: “The following at Scunthorpe was unbelievable. They sang throughout the whole game.

“To go over to celebrate with so many fans at the end and to have that feeling can only help the lads. And if it can be rocking at home too, that will give the players a push.”

Ball wasn’t surprised to see Pond joining the spectators to cheer his team-mates on.

The striker says there is a real connection between the players and fans, especially since the development of the public training complex at Poolfoot Farm.

Ball added: “With the facility we have, the community is welcome in and all the players like to speak to the fans and see how they are.

“We like to show that we are only human and just want to do as well as we can for Fleetwood Town.”
