Wonderland brings magic to Gardens

Following sold out seasons in Tampa, Texas and Tokyo, the multi-Grammy, Tony and Drama Desk Award nominated Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland will premiere in the UK in a brand new British production.

Hailed by the New York Times as “inspirational”, Wonderland is an enchanting musical adaption of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, with a huge heart, a medley of magic and a whole lot of wonder.

Wonderland will run at Blackpool Opera House from April 10 to 15 next year with tickets on sale now.

Winter Gardens managing director Michael Williams said: “Wonderland promises to be an absolutely fantastic family show and we are delighted to be announcing it so early.

“The show has enjoyed immense success overseas and we have no doubt it will be a huge hit with Blackpool audiences.”

Wonderland boasts a catchy score full of songs from Frank Wildhorn, writer of pop hits including Whitney Houston’s ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go?’ and theatre classics including ‘This is the Moment’ from his internationally acclaimed show, Jekyll & Hyde.

It is directed by Lotte Wakeham who was associate director of Matilda in the West End and Broadway, and has music by Frank Wildhorn, with lyrics by Jack Murphy.
