A woman stole a set of headphones after she broke her husband’s and was worried about how he would react.

Katrina Wilde, a 33-year-old mother, of Warrenhurst Road, Fleetwood, pleaded guilty to theft.

She was bailed for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced at a later date by District Judge Meirion Lewis-Jones sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Alison Quanbrough, prosecuting, said CCTV at the port’s Asda showed Wilde, who had two children with her, going into the toilets with her shopping on February 8.

When she came out she was apprehended by security staff. She had taken a pair of headphones, but refused to stay with the security officers and rushed out.

Patrick Nelligan, defending, said over the past couple of years Wilde had a drug problem. She had now organised a nine months detoxification and rehabilitation course for herself.
