A woman was found dead next to a grave in Lytham Cemetery, police have confirmed.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and notified police who launched an investigation into how the woman, who was in her 60s, died.
Detectives say the death was not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has now been informed.
The discovery was made at the cemetery, which is based on Regent Avenue, on Thursday morning.
The woman has not been formally identified by police.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “We received a call from the ambulance service at around 10.25am.
“A woman in her 60s was found dead next to a grave.
“The circumstances were non-suspicious so the file has now been passed to the coroner.”
A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service added: “I can confirm we did attend after we received a call at 10.10am.
“It is a police incident.”
