When the sun's out, the fun's out!
Blackpool emerged from the gloom of winter this weekend as the sunny weather brought fun-seekers out of hibernation.
The first decent weather for months attracted pre-Easter day-trippers to the resort ready to soak up the sunshine. And with dry warm weather forecast for the next couple of days, Blackpool can bask in the sun for a while longer.
However, on Wednesday the picture is set to change with the return of the rain and some high winds.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach reported a good turn-out for the last of the attraction’s half-price weekends before reopening full-time for the season on April 1.
While Blackpool Zoo reported that hundreds of visitors had made the most of the half-price offer for residents.
A spokesman said: “They made the most of the beautiful weather and joined us for our last weekend of March Madness.”
Meanwhile, others decided to spend the warm weather on Saturday and Sunday with an ice cream and a walk along the Prom.
That is, apart from two sun-seekers who decided to enjoy the weather in their tiny Sinclair C5s.
The battery-powered vehicles were created by British boffin Sir Clive Sinclair in 1985 and are now collectors’ items.
