Work to add capacity to the Broughton roundabout at the junction of the A6 and M55 will enter a new phase this weekend with the start of some overnight road closures.
Preston roads will be affected during August, with closures at the roundabout taking place in the autumn.
Lancashire County Council began improvements in June to add capacity to the roundabout near the M55 to reduce delays at what is one of Lancashire’s worst congestion hotspots.
Work will now move on to widening approaches to the roundabout, with the sections of road affected being closed overnight to allow the work to be done safely.
The Broughton roundabout including all accesses on to and off the M55 at Junction one will be closed completely from 8pm to 6am on the nights of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 14, 15 and 16.
Diversion routes will be signposted for motorists heading in all directions.
