The cream of Wyre businesses are set to step into the spotlight this week at a glittering event at the Marine Hall.
Wyre’s Walk of Fame will showcase success stories from all kinds of industries, including tourism, manufacturing and retail.
Businesses will gather on Thursday, and 40 who have excelled in their field in 2014 will be publicly recognised by organiser Wyre Council and hailed as beacons of good practice.
Coun Peter Murphy, cabinet member with responsibility for economic development at the council, explained the thinking behind the event: “While we can’t ignore the fact that these are difficult times economically, there are still many businesses in Wyre who have had a good year.
“The best have been personally invited to join our inaugural Walk of Fame for some special recognition on their doorstep.
“They may have won a national award, secured a big contract, done something innovative, or proactively changed the way they work to get better results. Either way, they have all made a positive contribution to Wyre’s economy. This is our way of saying thank-you.”
