Fleetwood is to be the subject of an episode of comedian Mark Steel’s radio show.
In Mark Steel’s In Town on BBC Radio 4, the funnyman visits different communities around the country and performs a show specifically written about that place.
The show is in its sixth series and now it’s Fleetwood’s turn to come under the comedy microscope.
The episode will be recorded at the Marine Hall on March 18 and be broadcast on May 20.
Producer Carl Cooper said: “Mark is currently researching Fleetwood and writing the show. He’s on the lookout for local stories and interesting local characters.
“It’s a celebration of the sort of places in Britain which are generally less visited as tourist attractions but that have their own fascinating stories to tell with inhabitants who are passionate about what their home has to offer.”
It all amounts to a bespoke comedy show for Fleetwood with the idiosyncrasies of the town detailed to a local audience.
