The event is being organised by a new business group, Beside the Seaside, aimed at increasing footfall and customers in this area of The Esplanade, which overlooks the River Wyre estuary.

Lee Preston-Stefani is a member of the group and one of the organisers of the event.

Lee, who is the manager of the Harbour Lights Amusements, said: “We have got 16 artists taking part in the talent show, which we are delighted with.

“We have singers, a band and a gymnast among the performers taking part.

“Members of the public can play their part by being judges and scoring the performers, and we will then collect their forms.

“The main idea is that people have fun and enjoy themselves.”

There will be a prize for the winning act and there will also be a prize for one lucky judge from the public, with judges’ score forms being entered into a draw.

Fleetwood businesses have donated prizes.

Lee added: “We’re hoping there will lots of people here over the weekend.

“We are slightly out of the way here and even on big days like Tram Sunday and Fleetwood Carnival, we are not really at the centre of the action.

“We hope this weekend we can address that and as a group we are looking to plan more events like this during the year.”
