Private school will have a new leader
Jeremy Quartermain is to take up the post from August 1, succeeding Elaine Purves (inset), who is taking up another headship in Brussels, Belgium.
Mr Quartermain is currently Deputy Head (Academic) at Brentwood School, an independent school in Essex.

Hide AdHe was educated at Colchester Royal Grammar School before studying for a history degree at Peterhouse, Cambridge University. He said: “It is an honour and privilege to be chosen to serve this wonderful school and, as a family, we are looking forward to joining this incredibly warm and welcoming community on the Fylde coast.
“I am committed to building upon the excellent work of Elaine Purves and my ambition for the school and my commitment to each and every member of this community is boundless.”
Appointed Deputy Head (Academic) at Brentwood School in 2013, Mr Quartermain says he has worked hard to help provide an exciting curriculum, excellent pastoral care and an intellectually challenging environment.
Mr Quartermain says he is keen to inspire a love of learning in young people, and added: “My strong advocacy of well-being and mental health provision comes from a personal understanding that young people’s journey to adulthood is often challenging and that, essentially, we are all works in progress.”

Hide AdA keen musician, Mr Quartermain is married to Fiona and the couple have three daughters, Alici, six, Caitlin, five, and one-year-old Teigan.
A keen musician, he enjoys playing and listening to music, gardening and reading.
