Denize Ashton, chairman of the Lytham Business Partnership, said: “It has been so very, very positive.

“You do get your moaners, but they are few and far between, and the festival is helping the town to thrive. People from all over the world are coming to Lytham Festival now, which has to be good for the area.”

Fylde Council’s tourism and leisure committee chairman, Coun Cheryl Little, added: “It’s phenomenal for the area, hotels not only in Lytham but also St Annes and even into Blackpool are busy with people who have come for the festival.

“And there’s also the ‘hidden economy’ to consider - the suppliers of places like the bars, restaurants and hotels.”

Festival director Peter Taylor said: “This year’s Lytham Festival has been absolutely fantastic. I know we say that every year but 2018 has really taken us to another level yet again.

“This was, without a doubt, our biggest and most popular year. More than 50,000 people attended the headline concerts in the Main Proms Arena with George Ezra and Emeli Sande, Nile Rodgers and CHIC and Il Divo all playing to full capacity crowds.

“The positive feedback we have had from customers and businesses throughout Lytham has been and continues to be immense.

So many people are responsible for making Lytham Festival the success it is and we thank them all for their continued support.”
