The pair have already reached their distance target of 26.2 miles but they have vowed to keep going until the end of the month.

They are hoping to raise as much as possible for the charity by the time January ends.

Isaac, 10, is a pupil at Larkholme Primary School while Oguzhan, who will soon celebrate his 10th birthday, attends Flakefleet Primary School in the town.

Mark Bagnall, Isaac's dad, said: "They are both inspirational and have done really well.

"I go out on the runs and on one occasion I was out with Isaac and it was freezing. I said to him that he'd done enough and we could go out the next day, because he was almost crying with cold.

"But he insisted on keeping going until's he'd done the day's target.

"I can't fault his determination, he just wants to do his best."

The youngsters are both members of Fylde Coast Soccer's Under-10s side, which normally plays in the Poulton and District Primary when matches are up and running.

Mark, of Rydal Avenue, Fleetwood, said the pair had got involved in the charity marathon after first taking part in a sponsored run for the football club last year.

He said: "After that run Isaac said he wanted to do another run and I mentioned that there was a national sponsored marathon challenge for Prostate Cancer UK.

"I thought he'd dismiss it, but he was up for it and the pair of them have taken the challenge very seriously."

Prostate Cancer UK offers key advice and also helps fund vital research into the illness.

There are around 48,500 new prostate cancer cases in the UK every year and it is the most common form of cancer for men in the UK.
