Fleetwood Town superfan given warm welcome after leaving hospital after more than six months following horror crash

A Fleetwood Town Football Club superfan who spent more than six months in hospital after being seriously hurt in a crash was given a warm welcome to the club’s training ground.

George McLaughlin was critically wounded during a crash between his bike and a Ford Transit Tipper in Broadway, Fleetwood last August.

After extensive rehabilitation, he left hospital last week – before heading down to Poolfoot Farm in Butts Road, Thornton, to watch his favourite players train yesterday.

The club shared an image of George surrounded by the grinning squad and told George it was “good to see you looking so well”.
