Doreen Lofthouse: The life of the Fleetwood philanthropist and Fisherman's Friend owner in pictures

Today we are paying tribute to Doreen Lofthouse, one of Fleetwood's much loved business icons, who has died aged 91.

The dream of Fisherman's Friend founder Doreen Lofthouse became reality when the statue of Eros was mounted on its plinth. The statue was put in place to act as a welcome to Fleetwood, located as it is in the middle of a roundabout on Amounderness Way.

As well as being one of the driving forces behind the Fisherman's Friend brand, Doreen also supported many good causes and community projects in Fleetwood donating millions of pounds through the years.
